At first S2 felt rather empty compared to the original, but it has come a long way since then. I pre tag and manage my library on my computer before syncing it to my phone. For me, sorting albums by the "Album Artist" tag is a requirement when it comes to a music player. For some reason that seems to be a rarity among competitors. Combine that capability with the overall polish and functionality of S2 and I can say there is no better app out there. Admittedly the add music and directory selection process was confusing at first, but it works perfectly fine once configured correctly. It's nice being able to manually rescan the music directory for new files, rather than waiting for the app to do so on its own time like in Shuttle 1.
Just to name one of the new features compared to the prior app. Definitely give this player an honest shot. The price is steep, but well worth it. At this point, S2 is my go-to offline music player and I look forward to seeing it continue to grow. A fantastic music player. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of some other apps, but it does the basics VERY right. This is something most players get wrong and even Android itself , so I'm glad to see it implemented correctly. I also love the clean UI. It's not cluttered at all, super easy to use. Really frustrating. Been using Shuttle for years and highly enjoying it. There's really no point in showing that - it should show the current track at the top, so that you can see the upcoming tracks. I really don't understand how it's been like this for so long. Also, the 'now playing' color in that same list need some serious contrast. It's hard to notice when scroll through the list. Generally like this music player, and have used it for a few years. However, after updating to Android 10 I lost all my playlists in the playlist section.
I can still add songs to them, but not actually play the lists. Also, shuttle basically doesn't ever start up again where it left off playing last time. Failed to load latest commit information, shuttle music player. Shows pictures of the artists so I suppose it gets those from the internet. This is not a cause for concern, RAM is there to be used!! Has sleep timer, equalizer. The app is limited to a 2 week free trial, after which playback speed is slowly increased.
